Iowa ranks as the 7th-best state for drivers, mainly because of low insurance costs and short commutes, reports Bankrate.com. One drawback: The state has relatively high gas prices, in Bankrate.com’s view. Idaho was listed as the best state for drivers. The worst state was Louisiana. The analysis looked at fatal crashes, car thefts, average commute times, gasoline spending, repair costs and insurance premiums.
