Baum Symposium at Drake adds keynote lecturers Blackmon, Yepsen
The 2018 Herb and Karen Baum Symposium on Ethics and the Professions announced it has added two speakers. The March event at Drake University will examine the key moral responsibilities of members of the U.S. civic body from various walks of professional life, in light of the current political climate. Scheduled March 22 through the morning of March 24, the free symposium will feature keynote lectures by New York Times op-ed columnist Charles Blow, pastor and racial justice organizer Traci Blackmon, and Iowa political commentator David Yepsen. The symposium is made possible through the support of philanthropists Herb and Karen Baum. A Drake alum and retired chairman, president and CEO of the Dial Corp., Herb Baum spent much of his retirement promoting ethical behavior in business. The symposium also includes a diverse program of guest speakers and panel discussions in a variety of professions and academic fields. More information and free registration is available online.
