Belin McCormick P.C. has established a fund for contributions to the arts and economic development.

The Belin McCormick Fund for Culture and the Arts will make gifts to the Des Moines Art Center, the Des Moines Playhouse, the Civic Center of Greater Des Moines, the Des Moines Symphony, Des Moines Metro Opera, Blank Park Zoo, Civic Music Association, StageWest Theater Company, the Science Center of Iowa, Living History Farms and Ballet Theatre of Iowa.

“With this fund, geared to nonprofit groups, we are supporting groups that improve the quality of life in the Des Moines area and help the community attract new businesses to locate here,” Steve Zumbach, a principal of the firm, said in a news release. “Previously, our contributions were primarily law-related (Iowa State Bar Association, Legal Aid, the Volunteer Lawyers Project) or more business-related (Greater Des Moines Partnership, Bravo). With this fund, we are specifically targeting arts and cultural organizations that improve overall quality of life in the community.”

Contributions from the firm and its individual attorneys make up the nearly $200,000 fund.
