John Bergman, who has held real estate management roles with Hubbell Realty Co. and Terrus Real Estate Group, joined SPMC in January as its president. Joe Johnson, previously president of Heritage Building Maintenance, the Central Iowa subsidiary of the Heritage Group, has been named SPMC’s technical director. SPMC program licensees use testing to set a baseline of cleanliness at a microbial level within a building, which establishes a scientifically trackable, data-based health and wellness microbial control protocol for each space, the company said in a news release. “This is so far beyond cleaning, we can’t consider ourselves anything less than a tech company,” Bergman said. “The data used to support our licensees is groundbreaking. … The availability of this technology sets a new standard for health in the built environment.” Founded in 2011, Heritage Building Maintenance provides health-driven building maintenance and infection control services throughout Central Iowa and the Midwest and has been on the Inc. 5000 list of fastest-growing U.S. companies for the past five years.
