The annual Best of the West Awards celebrate the best people, places and things in West Des Moines. Winners announced last week will be honored at an award ceremony on Nov. 29. The awards are given based on a community voting contest featuring 50 categories, including restaurants, retail stores and employers. “Congratulations to these incredible businesses, organizations and leaders in our community,” said Katherine Harrington, president and CEO of the West Des Moines Chamber of Commerce. “We love celebrating the wonderful people, places and things that help make West Des Moines the best city to live, work and play.” Registration is $35 for West Des Moines chamber members and $45 for nonmembers.
