Blair is Buena Vista’s American Heritage speaker
Tony Blair, prime minister of Great Britain and Northern Ireland from 1997 to 2007, will be the 20th William W. Siebens American Heritage Lecture laureate Oct. 7 at Buena Vista University in Storm Lake. He is the third former British prime minister to be a laureate for the series, preceded by Margaret Thatcher in 1994 and John Major in 2005. Other American Heritage series speakers have included former President George H.W. Bush, F.W. de Klerk, Vicente Fox, Shimon Peres, Benazir Bhutto and Jehan Sadat, widow of former Egyptian president Anwar Sadat.
