Wellmark Blue Cross and Blue Shield, Healthways and Blue Zones have announced two ways Iowans can learn more about the Blue Zones Project. An informational webinar for community leaders and the general public will be held Sept. 27 at 1:30 p.m.

The project also will host four road shows throughout Iowa, including a stop in Ankeny on Oct. 11 from 10 a.m. to noon at the FFA Enrichment Center at Des Moines Area Community College. The Blue Zones Project is part of the Iowa Healthiest State Initiative.

Ten communities will receive assistance from national experts to develop and implement a blueprint for making changes that lead people to healthier behavior.
