Garden author and designer Suzy Bales will bring her lush flower arranging style to Des Moines on May 13 at “Bouquets and Beyond,” a fund-raising luncheon for the Des Moines Botanical Center. The event will run from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Botanical Center, and includes a garden-to-table luncheon menu and a silent auction of unique garden gifts and services. Bales, a former garden editor at Better Homes and Gardens, Family Circle and the New York Times, will also autograph copies of two of her books, “Garden Bouquets and Beyond” and “The Garden in Winter.” Tickets for the event are $80.
