The Greater Des Moines Botanical Garden has announced the receipt of a $50,000 gift from the GuideOne Foundation as part of its “Welcome, Gather, Grow” capital campaign. The foundation selects organizations that share a common goal of making a positive impact on the communities they serve and is funded by contributions from employees of GuideOne Insurance and The Mutual Group. To celebrate GuideOne’s contribution and in the spirit of community collaboration, GuideOne and TMG employees enjoyed a terrarium workshop provided by Botanical Garden staff. “The Botanical Garden has long been a unique and vital part of the Greater Des Moines landscape,” Travis Sheets, GuideOne senior vice president and general counsel and foundation board member, said in a prepared statement. “In recent years, we’ve seen the needs of the community, visitors and members increase in terms of enhanced programming, space and a point of connectivity and I’m happy our Foundation is supporting the Garden’s Capital Campaign to further enhance the Greater Des Moines Botanical Garden.”
