Business Publications Corp. initiative Iowa Stops Hunger was recently highlighted at the July 13 national USAging Annual Conference, which represents the national network of Area Agencies on Aging. Tim Conroy, national vice president of governmental and health care partnerships at Mom’s Meals, participated in a panel on food insecurity in preparation for the September White House Conference on Hunger Nutrition and Health and discussed Iowa Stops Hunger. Conroy described how the Iowa Stops Hunger initiative raised awareness of food insecurity statewide and in particular among the business community, holding it up as an example of a successful initiative to address hunger in our most vulnerable communities. “Through Iowa Stops Hunger, Iowa has taken a leadership role in showing how public and private collaboration can raise awareness about food insecurity and further support the important work of nonprofits and agencies who combat hunger,” Conroy said. Mom’s Meals has been a supporter of Iowa Stops Hunger since inception. Ideas from the conference will inform the upcoming White House Conference on Hunger and Nutrition.
