Branstad to chair health committee
Gov. Terry Branstad today was named Chair of the National Governors Association’s (NGA) Health and Human Services Committee.
The committee handles issues dealing with health care, particularly related to Medicaid and federal-state safety net programs such as Temporary Assistance for Needy Families and the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program. Committee members are designated to ensure that governors’ views are represented in shaping federal policy.
