Broadlawns Medical Center and UnityPoint Health-Des Moines announced that their jointly administered psychiatry residency program has earned full accreditation from the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education. The Broadlawns UnityPoint Psychiatry Residency program welcomed the first class of four residents into its four-year training program in July 2018. The program currently includes 12 residents and will welcome four additional residents in July. “Residents work with a diverse patient population within these systems providing a well-rounded experience,” said Dr. Rebecca Lundquist, program director of Broadlawns UnityPoint Psychiatry Residency. Training for the psychiatry residents includes a full spectrum of clinical rotations: inpatient and outpatient care for adult, geriatric and children/adolescent patients, substance abuse and addiction treatment, consult and liaison services.
