Name: Stacy Rungaitis

New position: Chief operating officer of the Charitable Giving Resource Center, a subsidiary of Syverson Strege & Co., and dean of the firm’s Fundraising University. The center provides an array of training, education, advising and management services to nonprofit organizations and their leaders and donors. The Fundraising University, launched in the past year, provides a comprehensive three-day curriculum for nonprofit fund-raising professionals, with the next Des Moines class beginning on Sept. 9.

Vitals: Rungaitis returned in July to Greater Des Moines from Chicago, where she served as the manager of annual giving and events at the College of DuPage Foundation. Earlier in her career, Rungaitis served in a fund-raising and development role for Drake University, where she worked for five years at the Des Moines campus before moving to Chicago to lead Drake’s development and admissions office there. In addition to serving on several nonprofit boards, she is affiliated with the Association of Fundraising Professionals, the Council for Resource Development and the Council for Advancement and Support of Education. With a son getting ready to start kindergarten, returning to Des Moines was “a conscious effort on the part of our family, plus all the things we like about the Des Moines community,” she said.

Job one: To help executive directors, board members, professional staff and volunteer supporters of charitable institutions plan for the future.
