By the number$: Older U.S. workers worried about their retirements
More than one-third of U.S. workers over 50 say they’re concerned about losing their jobs. And 44 percent say they have considered delaying retirement. A June survey of 1,600 active 401(k) and health plan participants showed:
53%: Workers over 50 who believe they will be ready financially to retire
$7,995: The average 401(k) contribution in 2012
7%: The average increase in 401(k) contributions from 2011
62%: Workers over 50 who believe they will have to work at last part time during retirement
