Campaign training program to receive ISU CYtation award
Ready to Run, a program designed to train women to campaign for elected or appointed political office, will be recognized with Iowa State University’s 2017 Professional and Scientific Council Team CYtation Award. The award — to be presented at a ceremony on March 22 — honors a team of ISU employees who have performed “beyond the call of duty, executed their roles extremely well and have made an impact in the university within the past year.” Ready to Run is coordinated by Iowa State University’s Carrie Chapman Catt Center for Women and Politics. The 2017 program reached a record number of participants. Among the six workshops offered, 216 women and men registered for at least one of the sessions. Since the Catt Center first started offering Ready to Run Iowa in 2007, a total of 432 individuals have attended the workshops.
