Central Campus is a ‘green’ school
Des Moines Central Campus High School at 1800 Grand Ave. is one of 78 schools in the country to be named a U.S. Department of Education Green Ribbon School. Honored schools have a comprehensive approach to creating “green” environments through reducing environmental impact, promoting health and ensuring a high-quality environmental and outdoor education to prepare students with the skills and sustainability concepts needed in a global economy, according to a news release. This is the first year for the recognition; Central Campus was the only Iowa school honored.
