The Central Iowa Water Trails Consortium is asking for help to guide the vision of the transformational community project looking to connect Iowa with its river roots. Leadership has opened a survey for community feedback on developing the project’s identity that will help define the region. The public survey, which opened Dec. 14, was originally going to end on Friday but has now been extended through Dec. 23. The survey follows on a preliminary branding survey the consortium conducted this summer. Work on the Water Trails project is steered by leaders from across the metro area representing businesses, nonprofits and other Central Iowa stakeholders. A resource meant for every person who lives in the region, the project aims to provide new recreation, conservation and economic development opportunities to waterways across Greater Des Moines and beyond. Community members are encouraged to share their thoughts at the survey link here. To read a Business Record article about the project, click here.
