Charitable fund raising on the rise
Blackbaud Inc., which provides software and services to nonprofit organizations, said charitable groups’ revenues grew 11.3 percent for the three months ending May 31, compared with the same period last year. Blackbaud’s index of charitable giving calculated the three-month trend on giving for a 12-month period when 1,383 nonprofit organizations received $2.3 billion. Online giving increased 6.7 percent for the three months ending May 2011. The trend is based on $427 million in annual revenue reported by 1,833 organizations, Blackbaud said.
