Local charities stand to benefit from a golf tournament that will honor Feisal Sayeed, a 47-year-old CB Richard Ellis/Hubbell Commercial vice president who was killed last November in a traffic accident.

On June 16, Hubbell Realty Co. will host the The Feisal Sayeed Memorial Golf Tournament to support two of the late commercial real estate broker’s favorite nonprofit organizations: the Boys and Girls Clubs of Central Iowa and the YMCA of Greater Des Moines.

Scheduled to take place at Copper Creek Golf Club at 4825 Copper Creek Drive in Pleasant Hill, the tournament will bring Hubbell employees together with other members of the business community.

“That’s the way Feisal would like it,” said Kyle Gamble, managing director of CB Richard Ellis/Hubbell Commercial. “I’ve always admired how effortless it was for him to develop relationships and have such a strong connection to the community, to his business clients and to the charities he promoted. He enjoyed it so much. It was part of his life and part of his spirit.”

The event, which will kick off at 12:30 p.m. with a shotgun start, is also slated to include a free short-game clinic by PGA professional Ken Norland. A cocktail hour and an awards ceremony will take place at 5:30 p.m.

The entry fee is $75 for individuals and $300 for foursomes. To sign up, go to www.golfcoppercreek.com/outing. The registration deadline is June 3.

“Feisal was president of the Boys and Girls Club, and his term ended shortly before he passed,” Gamble said. “He promoted the YMCA for years and years, and spent a lot of time at the Y on the handball court. Having known, worked and been friends with him over 15 years, we’re hoping to start a tradition that becomes a good thing for the community and the charities as well.”
