The city of Des Moines received a 2010 WebAward for Outstanding Achievement in Web Development from the Web Marketing Association. Intended to recognize Web developers and marketers around the world, more than 2,000 sites from 45 countries were entered in 96 industry categories during this year’s competition. The city’s website, which was redesigned earlier this year, was judged by an independent team of advertising executives, site designers, creative directors and other media professionals based on seven criteria: design, innovation, content, technology, interactivity, copywriting and ease of use.
