City to hold 9/11 ceremony
The city of Des Moines will hold a special observance to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001.
The ceremony will be held at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 11, on the lawn of the Central Library, 1000 Grand Ave. The program will incorporate the Des Moines police and fire departments, and include remarks by Mayor Frank Cownie.
