City to host public meeting on tax abatement for residential construction
The city of Des Moines will host a public meeting on Aug. 9 about tax abatement for new residential construction and residential improvements.
The city’s tax abatement arrangement will expire on Dec. 31, and the council is seeking public input regarding the proposed ordinance for the future. City staff will make short presentations at 5:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. at city council chambers in City Hall, 400 Robert D. Ray Drive, and will allow for public input before and after the presentations.
