Artisan Capital Group acquired the 312-unit multifamily property in 2024 for $50 million, and began converting the vacant ground floor space on the west side into apartments. The space has been designated for commercial use, but has remained vacant since the building’s construction several years earlier.
The space was converted into 18 walk-up apartment units, a news release stated.
According to the release, the cost of the project was more than $2 million. Certificates of occupation were received last month and residents are now moving in.
“This was a great collaborative effort between our ARTISAN team, Hildreth Construction, Accretive Project & Development Services and Slingshot Architecture,” said Sean Fogarty, partner at Artisan Capital Group. “We’re proud to bring new life to underutilized space while expanding quality housing options in the community and neighborhood.”
The complex, on the southwest corner of Southwest Ninth and Murphy streets, was developed by Hubbell Realty Co. between 2013 and 2018. The development, whose first phase opened in 2014, includes nine buildings, the Business Record previously reported.
