Three Iowa colleges have received a total of $647,115 from the Health Resources and Services Administration to further nursing education programs for high-need areas in the state. Allen College in Waterloo, Clarke University in Dubuque and the University of Iowa each received awards, which were part of $149 million given nationally through 12 workforce programs. “These awards will help increase access to quality health care for all Americans by educating and training culturally competent providers who are prepared to practice in high-need areas,” HRSA Acting Administrator Jim Macrae said.
