Collegiate wrestling championship expected to bring 10,000
The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) 2012 Wrestling National Championship will come to Des Moines for the first time in the event’s 55-year history.
It is expected to bring 500 wrestlers, coaches and staff to the Iowa State Fairgrounds Jacobson Exhibition Center March 1-3.
The Greater Des Moines Convention and Visitors Bureau estimates that the event will attract 10,000 attendees, which will result in a $1 million economic impact on Greater Des Moines.
