Community foundation growth

Community foundations in Iowa have reported growth of more than $100 million in total assets between June 2010 and June 2011. The collective assets of Iowa community foundations grew to approximately $523.7 million in June 2011, up from $417.6 million in June 2010. This represents 25 percent growth in just 12 months. Here’s a look at the assets of the five largest.

Community Foundation of Greater Des Moines: $181,816,175

Greater Cedar Rapids Community Foundation: $116,694,445

Community Foundation of the Great River Bend:
$76,270,952

Community Foundation of Northeast Iowa: $54,729,727

Community Foundation of Greater Dubuque: $29,272,345

STATE TOTAL: $523,680,392

are included in the numbers above.
