Construction begins on new Altoona senior living community

210 wordsAll Latest News, Real Estate and DevelopmentThe development, on the southeast corner of Eighth Street and Fourteenth Avenue Southeast in Altoona, will include a one-story building with 20 assisted living units and 20 memory care units. A three-story independent living building will include 44 one- and two-bedroom units. The independent living units will also offer attached and detached garages as well as balcony and patio options.
Hubbell has developed five other senior living developments in the Edencrest series.
“This is the first Edencrest community where we will be offering independent living as an option,” Kris Saddoris, Hubbell’s vice president of multifamily development, said in a prepared statement. “We’ve heard from so many Altoona residents who want to remain close to their community and families. This independent living options allows residents to continue to age in place.”
Hubbell is partnering with Cedar Rapids-based Senior Housing Consultants Inc. from Cedar Rapids as its operational manager. Senior Housing comes with an extensive history in assisted living and memory care facility management in more than 20 communities throughout Iowa.
Construction of Edencrest at Tuscany is expected to be complete in late 2021.
