Convicted bank officer prohibited from working for federally insured lenders
A former loan officer and director at Community State Bank in Ankeny has been prohibited from working for banks, credit unions, their holding companies and subsidiaries under a consent order with the U.S. Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC). Brian Williams, who is serving a two-year federal prison term after pleading guilty earlier this year to bank fraud, also has been ordered to pay Community State Bank $485,970 in restitution in connection with a scheme that involved former University of Michigan and National Basketball Association player Rumeal Robinson. Williams admitted to accepting a $100,000 kickback from Robinson in exchange for making loans for a Jamaican resort. Robinson was sentenced to 78 months in prison in connection with the fraud.
