Cookie sale nets $7,000 in groceries for food pantry
The Des Moines Area Religious Council (DMARC) announced that Hy-Vee Inc. sold nearly 713,400 cookies during its annual Colossal Cookie Sale, the proceeds from which will provide more than $7,000 in groceries for DMARC’s Food Pantry Network. For each of the cookies sold at 12 cents, Hy-Vee donated one penny of food products to the Food Pantry Network. Since the sale began in 2003, Hy-Vee stores have sold more than 7 million cookies and donated more than $74,000 in food products.
