Personal income in eastern Iowa’s Creative Corridor area was above the state average but lagged the national average in 2017, the Corridor Business Journal reported. Growth rates ranged from 2.7 percent in Iowa County to 1.4 percent in Jones County. The United States Bureau of Economic Analysis reported that personal income increased 4.5 percent in U.S. metro areas and 3.2 percent in other areas. Counties in the Corridor — the area roughly from Cedar Rapids to Iowa City — mostly were in the 2 to 3 percent range.
