The agreement includes evaluation of in-lab and on-field improvements of Corteva commercial products. AgZen develops technology that measures and improves the number of drops of agrochemicals applied to crops. “We’ve already seen how much RealCoverage can help optimize spraying at the farm level, but by partnering with Corteva, one of the world’s largest input providers, we’re excited to explore opportunities for improvement to crop protection at a fundamental level,” AgZen CEO Vishnu Jayaprakash said in a press release. Valued at $42.1 billion, Indianapolis-based Corteva has a portfolio of seed and crop protection products. Corteva, an offshoot of Pioneer and once owned by Dow and DuPont, became a standalone company in 2019. On Oct. 1, Corteva announced a split into two publicly traded companies, New Corteva and SpinCo. When the split is complete in 2026, New Corteva will focus on crop protection and SpinCo will focus on seed development. Corteva’s seed business is based in Johnston. Aside from the AgZen partnership, Corteva has recently announced a new collaboration with California-based Profluent and invested in New York-based Ascribe Bio through its Corteva Catalyst platform.
