DART honors Latham, Harkin, Boswell
The Des Moines Area Regional Transit Authority Commission this week awarded its first Leaders in Motion awards to former U.S. Representatives Leonard Boswell and Tom Latham and former Sen. Tom Harkin. DART recognized the trio as champions of a “vibrant and sustainable public transit system” and noted they helped bring in $45 million for transit projects in Greater Des Moines. The projects included the Center Street Park and Ride, replacement buses, maintenance facility improvements, a new farebox system under development now and DART Central Station.
