Peter De Kock, former executive director of the Des Moines Social Club, has been hired as assistant city manager by the city of Clive. He starts work April 2, filling a position that was left vacant by the promotion of Matt McQuillen to city manager earlier this year. De Kock was selected from a field of more than 90 candidates after a five-month recruitment effort and interview process, according to a release. He was executive director of the Des Moines Social Club from November 2015 to February 2017. Before that he was vice president of operations and communications for Interfaith Youth Core in Chicago from 2012 to 2015 and district director for Iowa Congressman Bruce Braley from 2007 to 2012.
