Cedar Valley Business Monthly: Deere & Co. quarterly earnings declined for the 11th consecutive quarter over the previous year and the company recorded its lowest year-end operating profit since 2009. However, company officials said, there are signs the depressed ag economy may be bottoming out. Despite a 20 percent drop in year-end earnings it was one of the top 10 earnings years in company history and the ag division profits actually increased for the fourth quarter and full year. Earnings per share beat analysts’ mean estimates for the quarter and the year, according to MarketWatch.
