Farm equipment manufacturer Deere & Co., has leased a 300,000-square-foot warehouse in Altoona to support its John Deere Works facility in Ankeny.

The warehouse, known as the I-80 Business Center, is at 555 Ninth St. N.E. It was built by Endeavor Development. It is a modern office and warehouse space that features 32-foot clearance and ample parking for trailers, said Joe Bergman, vice president of development for the St. Paul, Minn.-based firm.

“It provides users with the flexibility to operate their business in an efficient and productive manner,” he said in an email.

Repeated attempts to reach a Deere representative were unsuccessful, but Bergman said the company will use the Altoona warehouse space to support manufacturing at its Ankeny facility.

Bergman declined to disclose the lease terms for the warehouse.

Endeavor also recently developed and sold the 180,000-square-foot I-35 Business Center at 7125 Delaware Ave S.E. in Ankeny, he said.
