Deere, UAW workers reach tentative agreement

Deere & Co. announced this morning it has reached a tentative agreement with the United Auto Workers to replace the six-year master labor contract that expired Sept. 30. The tentative agreement is for six years and will now be presented for a vote of union members in order to ratify it. Other terms of the agreement will not be made public, the company said. The UAW represents approximately 10,000 Deere manufacturing employees at 12 factories in Iowa, Illinois and Kansas. A membership vote on the agreement is expected to take place Sunday, The Des Moines Register reported.
