Des Moines apartment owner and manager among tops in the country

Bookey’s Des Moines-based BH Management Services LLC has the second largest portfolio growth of all owners in the country, the organizations said. BH Management Services moved 11 spots to rank No. 18 on a list of the top 50 owners in the country. It moved to No. 12 on the list of the top 50 apartment managers, moving up seven spots from 2014. Accord to the NMHC, multifamily transactions have reached $112 billion, an all-time high. “While one might expect the apartment industry expansion to have reached its peak, we are seeing the opposite,” Mark Obrinsky, NMHC’s senior vice president of research and chief economist, said in a release. “Renter growth remains at historic highs, and for the fourth time in the last five years, we saw an increase of more than 1 million new renters.”
