Oakhill Jackson Brickstones, a low-income housing tax credit project in Cedar Rapids, has been recognized in the 17th annual Charles L. Edson Tax Credit Excellence Awards as the “Best Affordable Housing Project in America for Disaster Communities.” The Affordable Housing Tax Credit Coalition received 48 applications from 21 states in this year’s competition, which was intended to honor affordable rental housing projects based on their locations, designs, financing methods and other criteria. Developed by Hatch Development Group, Oakhill Jackson Brickstones was among 14 projects to receive a first-place award or an honorable mention. State Sen. Jack Hatch, president of Hatch Development Group, will accept the award on May 11 in Washington, D.C.
