Des Moines-based Quick Supply Co. announced that it made two acquisitions at the end of October, expanding the geographic reach of its affiliates in the explosives distribution market. The first transaction was the purchase of Quality Blasting Services, a leading distributor of explosives headquartered in Alpena, Mich. QBS has strong relationships with quarries and mining operations throughout the state. Quick Supply also purchased Dole Explosives, a 53-year-old full-service distributor of blasting services to aggregate quarries throughout Minnesota and Wisconsin. Terms of the acquisitions were not disclosed. BCC Advisers, a Des Moines-based investment banking firm, advised Quick Supply on both transactions.
