Des Moines International Airport gets $1.9 million from FAA
The Federal Aviation Administration has awarded a $1.9 million grant to Des Moines International Airport to rehabilitate its taxiway, Iowa Sen. Charles Grassley said today. “This funding is intended to increase the safety and efficiency of the airport, as well as help provide important economic development opportunities for the surrounding communities,” he said. Each year, local Iowa organizations, colleges and universities, individuals and state agencies apply for competitive grants from the federal government. The funding is then awarded based on each local organization or individual’s ability to meet criteria set by the federal government.
