The city of Des Moines announced yesterday that in August and September it recorded revenues of $73,788 from the fees received on 1,129 citations resulting from the five recently installed red-light cameras, the fixed speed camera on Interstate 235 and the mobile camera unit that changes locations throughout the city. A total of $20,506 was paid to the city’s contractor, Gatso USA Traffic Enforcement Solutions, leaving the city with a net of $53,282. The city issued 1,776 citations in the month of September, 820 of which have been paid so far.
