Des Moines Register: Some Des Moines Public Schools’ substitutes will see an increase in pay next school year as part of an ongoing effort by district officials to retain staff. The Des Moines School Board unanimously approved the higher daily pay rates for substitute teachers and associates ahead of the 2022-23 school year during Tuesday night’s meeting. Long-term substitute teacher pay would go from $150 to $165 per day, and after 10 days in the same assignment some substitutes will see a pay raise to $180.
