The Debbie and Jerry Ivy College of Business will honor alumnus John DeVries, retired CEO of Colorfx, as the inaugural recipient of the Ivy Award later this month. The award, the highest honor bestowed by Iowa State University’s business college, is presented to an individual, family, or organization in recognition of their exceptional career achievements and service to the college. DeVries’ strategic philanthropy supports a faculty endowed position for the college; he also created the John D. DeVries Presidential Scholarship, which has been awarded to 63 students since 1999. He is among four alumni and a former dean who will be recognized during the 87th Annual Honors and Awards Ceremony on Oct. 26, hosted by the ISU Alumni Association.
