Kim Reynolds acknowledged for the first time Tuesday that an increase in patient deaths at a state-run institution for people with disabilities was one of the reasons she asked former agency director Jerry Foxhoven to resign. Foxhoven was ousted as director of the Iowa Department of Human Services last year. Reynolds, who had not previously detailed the reasons for his ouster, told reporters at the Capitol on Tuesday that she was “not happy” with the response she received last year regarding the deaths at Glenwood Resource Center.
