DOT eyes land in Four Mile greenbelt
The Iowa Department of Transportation wants to buy land for highway right-of- way in Polk County’s Four Mile Creek greenbelt between Northeast 54th Place and Northeast 46th Street near Altoona. The land is north and south of Interstate 80. The greenbelt is managed by the Polk County Conservation Board and includes wildlife habitat, a trail and areas to help ease flood risks. The DOT wants to buy approximately 0.7 acre and will work with the conservation board to find land that can be added to the greenbelt. Read the fullnews release
