The Iowa Architectural Foundation will kick off its annual summer Architecture @ Hand Walking Tours on June 16. Guided by area architects and design professionals, the tours of downtown Des Moines provide an opportunity to learn about architectural detail, style and elements, along with intriguing factoids and the historical significance of the buildings that shape the downtown skyline. Participants can choose from four routes. The tours are $10 per person. All proceeds benefit the foundation’s educational programs.
