The Polk County Health Department will hold its annual drive-thru flu clinic on Saturday, Oct. 1, from 10 a.m. to noon at the health department’s office at 1907 Carpenter Ave. in Des Moines. “Swing through our drive-thru flu clinic while running your morning errands or getting a cup of coffee,” said Rick Kozin, Polk County Health Department director. “It’s fast, convenient and will help you stay healthy this flu season.” Those unable to attend the drive-thru clinic can visit the health department’s website to find other scheduled flu clinics. Most major insurance plans are accepted; participants should bring their insurance card. The cost for those without insurance is $20.
