DsmHack working with 10 local nonprofits to meet technology needs
Dozens of developers, designers and innovators are coming together this weekend, working around the clock to meet the technology needs of 10 local nonprofits. The Des Moines Charity Hackathon, or dsmHack, kicked off Thursday at 6 p.m. and will continue nonstop until 6 p.m. Saturday. Nonprofits selected to receive services are Animal Lifeline of Iowa, Children & Families of Iowa, Community Youth Concepts, Forest Ave Outreach, Help-A-Heart, Iowa Able Foundation, Iowa Legal Aid Foundation, Teens Against Human Trafficking, Wallace Centers of Iowa and Whiterock Conservancy. Thirty nonprofits submitted proposals for the third annual hackathon. Last year, dsmHack provided an estimated $100,000 in technology services at no cost to nine nonprofits.
