E.I. du Pont de Nemours & Co. and Advanta Corp., an India-based global seed business, announced a collaboration and licensing agreement to develop and deliver sorghum with increased productivity and value. DuPont subsidiary Pioneer Hi-Bred International Inc., which is based in Johnston, and Advanta will have commercial rights to sorghum products developed under the agreement once regulatory approvals have been received. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed. Sorghum is a staple grain for many parts of the world and almost three-quarters of the world crop is used for human consumption.
