DuPont executives are fighting efforts by activist investor Nelson Peltz, co-founder of Trian Fund Management, to join the board and potentially split the company, The Des Moines Register reported. It could push Johnston-based DuPont Pioneer into a new publicly traded company, left to navigate a volatile market without the help of its cash-rich parent. Although he has recently softened his stance, Peltz has argued to move Pioneer into a separate company, along with nutrition and health, and industrial biosciences, to promote growth and to serve shareholders.
